hello second trimester!

I'm in my pj's,  so what!

baby<3

*this week's big developments: baby can now squint, frown, grimace and pee.

*thanks to brain impulses, baby's facial muscles are getting a workout as tiny features form one expression after another. the kidneys are producing urine, which baby releases into the amniotic fluid around him or her (this continues until birth).

*in other news: baby's stretching out. from head to bottom, he or she measures 3 1/2 inches – about the size of a lemon – and weighs 1 1/2 ounces. the body's growing faster than the head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, baby's arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his or her body. (The legs still have some lengthening to do.) and baby's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy layer of hair, called lanugo, that covers the body.

*baby's liver starts making bile this week – a sign that it's doing its job right – and the spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. little one's hands and feet (which now measure about half an inch long) are more flexible and active.

* 14 weeks. 

weight gain:

* I haven't weighted myself this week. 

symptoms:

* little bit of nausea still, but it's gotten better. 

* NO THROWING UP THIS WEEK! yeah! 

maternity clothes?

* none yet. it's just mostly workout shorts and a t shirt for me! (: 

sleep: 

* I'm sleeping horrible! :-/ I hardly get any sleep anymore. 

movement: 

* call me crazy. yes, I've felt movement. NO! IT'S NOT GAS! I know it's my sweet baby kicking :D 

food cravings: 

* fruity pebbles & of course sweets! 

anything making you queasy or sick: 

* just my pills I've gotta take.  :-/

Looking forward to: 

* my appt. April 5. hearing baby's heart beat! 

best moment this week: 

* playing with my little man! you know how long it's been since I've actually got down on the ground and actually played with him?! tooooo looong! 

* i finally got to have a date night with my hubby! 

*my dad come down to surprise my mom last weekend(:
